Ingane Yami Golf Day 2017

Post by Dennis Markham on Ingane Yami - Published June 7th, 2017

On Saturday 3rd June 2017 Pearly Grey hosted the eighth annual Ingane Yami Golf Tournament at the Golf Costa Adeje in Tenerife.  Organised by the staff at Pearly Grey Ocean Club we returned for the fifth consecutive year to this fabulous golf course on the south coast of Tenerife for a great day of golf and fundraising.
Once again we teamed up with our media partners OasisFM and Canarian Weekly to help promote the event and ensure that we had a great turnout of 98 players.  Each year we have the support of the local golfing community and Mike Setch who provides us with players from their golf society.

Pearly Grey and Ingane Yami would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to all the players who turned up to play and help make this event one of the best on the Tenerife golfing calendar.

This event would not be possible without our sponsors, many of you have been with us since our first tournament back in 2010 and each year you return and support us.  We also welcomed 10 new sponsors this year and we hope that you will join us again next year.  Thanks to your support we have raised around €21,000.00 which with a favourable exchange rate will mean R303,000 South African Rand.

Our gold sponsor again this year was Girabebe SL who also provided a hospitality tent at the golf course with free drinks for everyone.  We would also like to thank all the Silver and Bronze sponsors, between you we had 42 sponsors participating, we really appreciate your support.

This year’s tournament format was a change from previous years and we opted for a Single Stableford competition with a shotgun start.  In total we had 98 players competing in the event on this perfect sunny day in South Tenerife.  The competition was divided into three main categories and a female category meaning we would have four individual winners.
The winner’s prizes of aero burner drivers were kindly donated by Paul Smith of Tenerife Golf Shop.
There would also be prizes for nearest the pin on all the par 3 holes and these prizes were donated by James Fenner of James’s Place in La Caleta.

The winners of the 2017 Ingane Yami Charity Golf Tournament;
Category 1 (handicap 0-9.4) – Dale Beckley with a points total of 40.
Category 2 (handicap 9.5-18.4) – Joe Read with a points total of 39.
Category 3 (handicap 18.5-final) – Steven Muir with a points total of 42
