Jungle Park

jungle park (3)Once you enter the gates of Jungle Park, you enter another world, as you are transported to a tropical jungle teeming with plants, birds and animals. The park is surprisingly big, and is unlike many ordinary zoos has an authentic jungle atmosphere.

It also in a great location, just a short drive away from Pearly Grey Resort. John Beckley and I were due to watch an exotic bird at 11, but beforehand we just had to try the bobsleigh, as both of us are like big kids. Fran, one of the friendly staff working there, was able to pull some strings and get us on, as the ride wasn’t open when we arrived. As the ride started ascending higher and higher I started wondering how fast it was going to go, as this was my first time on a bobsleigh. It definitely wasn’t as scary or fast as John described, but it’s a lot of fun, and you definitely get an adrenaline rush!

jungle park (4)After checking out the wide variety of animals at the park including leopards, white lions, flamingos, orangutans, meerkats, otters, and monkeys we headed to the exotic bird show. This was presented in Spanish and English and was a super spectacle. These birds are truly beautiful with incredible markings and colours, and graceful movements. They flew around the audience which was full of families with kids, who were loving the show. The birds are all totally safe and the audience were given nuts and seeds to feed them, adding to the enjoyment. After continuing our exploration of the park we headed to the Birds of Prey Show. This was an amazing display that you definitely need to need to go and see if you visit Jungle Park. These birds are stunning, and offer a real glimpse of the power of nature. They soar high above the park then dive down at incredible speeds straight to their trainers. At other parts of the show you can literally feel the wind from their wings as the birds zip centimetres above your head!
